The “Big Red” Super Stockers were a terror in 60’s East Coast racing. This “Big Red” tuned up at Henderson, sitting quietly on a side street. This short wheelbase dragster was once powered by a blown 392 “early Hemi”, and campaigned extensively. New owners have added “late model” 426 Hemi power in a shorty dragster that promises a wild ride!

Jerry Baltes, now a North Carolina retiree, brought out his beautifully restored Croshier-Baltes-Lavato Top Fuel dragster to Henderson. This San Diego, CA based team was a many-time 60’s Top Fuel winner and was often used as a test car by the famous racing Crower brothers, Bruce and Dave. The Bliss Brothers C/Dragster won the 1962 NHRA Nationals C/Dragster class honors as well as the ‘63 Division 1 Competition Eliminator points title and was named to Hot Rod Magazine’s “Top 10” during its lengthy career. A Hilborn injected, small-block Chevy in a homebuilt frame did the trick during the late 50’s and 60’s for them. The Hahn & Turner B/Fuel Dragster was one of the East Coast’s quickest and fastest. Powered by a small-block Chevy, the lightweight car ran “straight from the can”, 98% nitromethane for seven second, 190+ mph runs. Andy and Donna Boye’s GMC “Jimmy” six-cylinder powered D/Dragster entertained spectators with its many start-up’s and firecracker-crisp throttle response. A master machinist, engine builder, welder and fabricator, Boeye’s vintage “Jimmy” boasts 16:1 compression and a unique homemade intake system. “Jersey John” Anzelmo once owned the chassis.
